The Dig plays with two fine local bands, Brett and Wheelie. I've seen the Dig twice and they are well worth a third night out for me.
The third annual DC Jazz Loft series begins this Friday, June 7th with a free partyand continues on into the week through the DC Jazz Fest. (Peter Brotzmann plays on the 8th)
Gary Louris of the Jayhawks plays a solo show at the Jammin Java on Saturday the 8th (and is in Annapolis on the 10th for those of you out that way).
Pharmakon fresh off a slot at Chaos in Tejas, hits the Black Cat on Sunday, June 9th
Ariel Pink plays their unique brand of pop at the U Street music Hall on Monday, June 10th
Denmark's Ice Age comes to the Rock'n'Roll Hotel as one of the hottest post-punk bands going in this day and age.
The wonderfully named We Were Promised Jetpacks also plays wonderful music at the Jammin Java on Friday, June 14th. They are also from one of my favorite cities, Edinburgh.
